A Visit to the Biodiversity Park
Description: A Visit to the Biodiversity Park Date: 25 April 2025 Venue: Biodiversity Park, FTI, Haldwani An educational trip to the Biodiversity Park was organized by Whitehall for Grade 9 students. The aim of the visit was to help understand the importance of biodiversity and the need to conserve natural habitats. The journey started in the morning and students reached the park after a short bus ride. Upon arrival, students and teachers were welcomed by a park guide who briefed about the park's history and significance. The park is spread over a large area and is home to a wide range of flora and fauna. While walking through the park, various types of trees, medicinal plants, shrubs, and colorful flowers were shown. Many birds were also spotted during the walk. Some students were lucky enough to see butterflies and small animals such as squirrel. The guide explained how each species plays a unique role in maintaining the balance of nature. One of the highlights of the visit was the butterfly pollination garden, aquatic garden, cactus garden, zurrasic park and interpretation centre. Students also visited a small information center where posters and models displayed the variety and animals and birds. The visit was not only educational but also a refreshing experience. Everyone enjoyed being close to nature, and it helped us understand the real meaning of conservation , taught valuable lessons about biodiversity, conservation, and the importance of living in harmony with nature and returned with a deeper appreciation of the natural world and a strong message: "Protect Nature, Preserve Life."
