Date:

Venue:
Biodiversity Park, FTI, Haldwani
An
educational trip to the Biodiversity Park was organized by Whitehall for Grade
9 students. The aim of the visit was to help understand the importance of
biodiversity and the need to conserve natural habitats.
The
journey started in the morning and students reached the park after a short bus
ride. Upon arrival, students and teachers were welcomed by a park guide who
briefed about the park's history and
significance. The park is spread over a large area and is home to a wide range
of flora and fauna.
While
walking through the park, various types of trees, medicinal plants, shrubs, and
colorful flowers were shown. Many birds were also spotted during the walk. Some students were lucky enough to see
butterflies and small animals such as squirrel. The guide explained how each
species plays a unique role in maintaining the balance of nature.
One
of the highlights of the visit was the butterfly pollination garden, aquatic
garden, cactus garden, zurrasic park and interpretation centre.
Students
also visited a small information center where posters and models displayed the
variety and animals and birds.
The
visit was not only educational but also a refreshing experience. Everyone
enjoyed being close to nature, and it helped us understand the real meaning of
conservation , taught valuable lessons about biodiversity, conservation, and the
importance of living in harmony with nature and
returned with a deeper appreciation of the natural world and a strong
message: "Protect Nature, Preserve Life."
